Precious Metal Refining

Complete Metal Waste Recycling Plant and Equipment

A complete metal waste recycling plant and equipment is an integrated, turnkey processing facility that transforms metal-bearing waste into high-purity ingots or final products.

At Guanma Machinery, a specialized metal waste recycling facility supplier, we design and manufacture full-scale metal waste processing and recycling lines for aluminum, copper, tin, zinc, and lead.

Metal Waste Processing and Recycling

Modern metal recycling demands more than a single machine. It requires a systematic sequence that guarantees high metal recovery, low energy consumption, and safe handling of emissions. A complete metal waste recycling plant typically integrates:

  • Receiving and storage systems for mixed metal waste
  • Size reduction (shredding, crushing, granulation)
  • Separation technologies (magnetic, eddy current, density, optical)
  • Thermal processing (smelting furnaces tailored to each metal)
  • Refining and alloying stations
  • Casting lines for final ingot, sow, or block output
  • Fume treatment and wastewater management systems

Complete Metal Waste Recycling Plant and Equipment by Commodity

Guanma Machinery provides dedicated complete metal waste recycling plants for four core non-ferrous metals, plus a specialized line for lead. Every facility includes main equipment, auxiliary systems, automation, and comprehensive environmental pollution control.

Aluminum (Al) Recycling Plant

Our aluminum recycling solution processes all common forms of aluminum waste: UBC (used beverage cans), extruded profiles, shredded auto parts, turnings, and mixed Al scrap. The complete line covers:

Pre-treatment: Hammer shredding, magnetic iron removal, eddy current separation to isolate aluminum from other metals, and de-coating/de-lacquering systems (for coated scrap) to reduce dross generation.

Processing & Separation: Advanced sorting units further upgrade scrap purity before melting.

Smelting: Tilting rotary furnaces or side-well reverberatory furnaces with oxy-fuel or regenerative burners. Flux injection systems maximize yield and metal cleanliness.

Refining: In-furnace or in-line fluxing and degassing to remove inclusions and hydrogen; optional alloying stations to adjust chemical composition.

Final Metal Recovery: Continuous casting and stacking lines produce 6 kg to 25 kg ingots, T-bars, or sows for direct sale or remelt

Copper (Cu) Recovery Facility

Copper recycling often starts with heterogeneous materials: cables, radiators, printed circuit boards, copper slags, and turnings. Our copper recycling facility handles:

Pre-treatment: Cable stripping/granulation, single-shaft shredding, air separation for light fraction removal, and magnetic/eddy current separation to obtain a clean copper-rich fraction.

Smelting: Anode shaft furnaces, top-blown rotary converters, or induction furnaces for secondary copper smelting. The feed can include blister copper, high-grade copper scrap, and residues.

Refining: Fire refining in tilting refining furnaces followed by electrolytic refining to produce cathode copper with >99.99% purity.

Final Recovery: Cathode stripping, washing, and baling or direct casting into copper wire rod, ingots, or billets.

Our plants also manage tin/lead by-product recovery from copper drosses, adding extra value.

Tin (Sn) Recycling Line

Tin is often recovered from solder dross, Sn-Pb alloys, tinplate scrap, and ITO residues. Our tin recycling line includes:

Pre-treatment: Dross pressing, crushing, screening to separate metallic tin from oxides, and thermal de-tinning of tinplate scrap.

Smelting: Electric resistance or gas-fired kettle furnaces optimized for low melting point metals. Controlled atmosphere prevents re-oxidation.

Refining: Fractional crystallization, centrifugal filtration, and chemical impurity removal to reach purity grades up to 99.95% Sn.

Final Recovery: Automatic ingot casting into 25 kg tin ingot molds with precise weight control.

This process aligns with global tin recycling standards and delivers tin that can be reused directly in electronics or steel coating.

Zinc (Zn) Recovery Plant

Zinc recycling focuses on top dross, bottom dross, skimmings, and zinc ash from galvanizing lines. Our zinc recovery plant features:

Pre-treatment: Hammer milling of dross, screening, and ball milling to recover metallic zinc particles from ash.

Processing & Separation: Mechanical separation concentrates the metallic fraction; flux addition prepares material for melting.

Smelting: Muffle or crucible furnaces, sometimes combined with vacuum distillation units, to separate zinc from iron and other intermetallics.

Refining: Distillation columns or refluxer systems produce high-grade SHG (Special High Grade) zinc.

Final Recovery: Zinc ingot casting machine, manual or fully automated, with on-line chemical analysis.

Complete Lead (Pb) Recycling Line

Lead recycling demands a specialized, closed-loop approach—especially when processing lead-containing waste like scrap batteries, lead sheets, pipe scrap, and residues. Guanma Machinery supplies a truly complete lead recycling line that starts with dismantling and ends with clean lead ingots, all within a sealed, negative-pressure environment.

Dismantling of Lead-Containing Waste: For spent lead-acid batteries, our automatic battery breaker separates whole batteries into polypropylene chips, lead paste, and metallic grids. The system includes acid draining and neutralization.

Crushing & Separation: Hammer crushers reduce battery grids and other metallic pieces. Wet or dry separation technologies (hydro-separators, vibrating screens) partition lead paste, metallic lead, and plastics.

Pre-treatment: Lead paste undergoes desulfurization with carbonate reagents to produce desulfurized paste ready for smelting, drastically reducing SO₂ emissions.

Smelting: Rotary reverberatory furnaces or tilting rotary furnaces melt the pre-treated materials under a controlled reducing atmosphere. Baghouse filters capture lead dust, while exhaust is treated through lime injection and scrubbers.

Refining: Crude lead bullion is transferred to a series of refining kettles. By skimming, drossing, and adding refining agents, we sequentially remove copper, tin, arsenic, antimony, and other impurities. This yields pure soft lead (99.97% Pb) or specific lead-antimony alloys.

Final Lead Casting: The refined lead is cast via an automatic ingot casting machine into standard 25 kg or 40 kg lead ingots.
