Hydrometallurgy Recycling Process
The project adopts a process flow comprising pretreatment, leaching, purification, solvent extraction, concentration, and ternary precursor preparation.
1. Pretreatment
Spent ternary lithium batteries are fully discharged, followed by disassembly and separation of components such as cathode black mass, anode black mass, electrolyte, separator, and metal casing.
2. Hydrometallurgical Section
The black mass undergoes acid leaching, impurity removal, solvent extraction, and lithium precipitation to yield products like manganese sulfate, nickel sulfate, cobalt sulfate, lithium carbonate, and ternary precursor.
3. Battery-Grade Materials
Cobalt sulfate, nickel sulfate, and manganese sulfate solutions are filtered, solidified, and synthesized into ternary precursor. This precursor is then combined with a lithium source to form ternary cathode material. Thus, retired power battery materials re-enter the manufacturing cycle, forming a closed-loop system.
